The story of a father and his two sons: Birdd, Tom and Steven

The story of a father and his two sons: Birdd, Tom and Steven

by Dan Bloom

CHIAYI CITY -- Birdd is a father, a husband and a school teacher. His two sons are Tom and Steven. A few years ago, Birdd and Tom went on a trip around the island of Taiwan -- on a motorscooter. Young brother Steven stayed home in Chiayi with his mother and watched the news of the trip on his computer. Every day, Birdd and Tom would send photos to Steven via email. So Steven could watch the trip on his computer.

Birdd and Tom said they had a good time. They liked going to Juifen and eating beef noodle soup. They also visited Taitung and Kenting and Hualien. Everywhere they went they say many interesting things and met many interesting people, Tom said.

In Kaohsiung, they watched a World Pool Tournament. Tom said he really liked that!
Steven also said he saw Tom TV watching the pool tournament. That is amazing!

Birdd and Tom ate many good food dishes on their trip, including oyster omelettes in Lukang.

Birdd said for him the most important part of the trip was "talking to my son while we were driving around Taiwan together." To see some photos look here:

Birdd and his two sons Tom and Steven are part of a great family -- Mom, too!

Together, this family makes Chiayi a wonderful place to live!

Taking Woodstock Comédie d'Ang Lee a vec Demetri Martin, Emile Hirsch.

===========
LE FIGARO. - You were born in Taiwan and you were 15 years old in 1969. Which are your memories of Woodstock with l' time?

Ang Lee. - I remember i SAW THE NEW on TV but the authoritarian regime and repressive did not make obviously the promotion of l' event. D' was spoken; an invasion hippie! In the streets of Taiwan, the police force embarked those which had the too long hair, beard or trousers for theirs to cross! But if j' had been a small American, j' would have made the wall to return to me to the festival, against l' opinion of my parents obviously. Qu' this is which pushed you to carry out a film around this moment worship? J' met Elliot Tiber in San Francisco then qu' it made the promotion of its autobiography and me that of Lust, Caution. It m' made a summary d' one minute of his memories and I said myself that if The Ice Storm (1997) were a kind of hangover of l' after-1969, Taking Woodstock would be the superb night which precedes. In addition, j' had realized six dramatic films in the tread, j' needed d' a good subject of comedy, without cynicism. For me, 1969 and Woodstock represent the last moments d' innocence in the world. This time of l' innocence, n' one does not need any particularly aujourd' today? In America, where I have lived for nineteen years, I feel around me an aspiration on a return to the “Peace and Love”. With l' hour of the crisis, we need changes and the large combat d' yesterday are always d' topicality. My 18 year old son who was to return to l' university dried the courses to attend l' nomination of president Obama in Washington. J' furious stays but it m' answered: “C' is an incredible gathering, that was to be like that in Woodstock! ” In Taking Woodstock, interpreted by Jonathan Groff, there is of course the figure of Michael lang. L' did you meet? Yes, it always has the hair long and buckled but does not walk any more to horse as in 1969! This year, it was 24 years old and was a businessman who wanted to build a studio d' recording with Woodstock. He persuaded Joel Rosenman and John Roberts d' to organize a giant concert which would finance its project. Like the trio n' did not have the right d' to occupy Wallkill, the proposal of White Lake by Elliot Tiber was adopted. You took the party not to show the concert. Why n' to have flooded film of more than music? C' above all l' is; history d' a family and in the way in which it was transformed by l' arrival of these thousands of festival. Music? There is much all the same of it! One had to battle firm to obtain the rights of certain pieces. Taking Woodstock Comedy d' Ang Lee has vec Demetri Martin, Emile Hirsch. Duration: 2 hours. (French end September August-beginning and American Exit the weekend of the 40e birthday of the Festival of Woodstock.)
